(4) Altec 814A speaker cabinets.
(THE 15" SPEAKERS ARE NOT INCLUDED -THEY ARE LONG GONE).
The Altec 1975 catalog says "The 814A is a directional
low-frequency loud-speaker design designed to overcome
the problems associated with a too-broad dispersion
pattern in reverberant atmospheres. Low frequency energy
is difficult and tends to fan out much more than energy
in the mid and high frequencies... The 814A solves this
problem by tightly controlling the horizontal and vertical
dispersion in the low frequencies and the vertical is
achieved by stacking multiple 814A elements to narrow the
distribution pattern. They are 20"W x 20"H x 12"D." The
cabinets weigh under 25 lbs each (with out the speaker
which are not included)
The boxes were painted brown to match the church
decor when originally installed in the 50's or 60's. The
paint is off where the mounting brackets had once been.
These cabinets were stacked vertically.
Load them with your favorite 15" and stack 2 by 2 or 1
vertical array. Great for Home theatre, Movie theatres,
sound reinforcment, etc.
We removed these speakers from a church in the 80's.
They have sat in our warehouse for many years
undisturbed. We're cleaning out the warehouse and they
need another home.
